Known as the Land of High Passes, Ladakh truly is one of the most enchanting places one can visit. Exploring the stunning beauty and rich culture of this region on a motorcycle expedition is an experience like no other!
This tour commences in Srinagar, one of the most enchanting destinations of the country. The next day, you head towards Kargil in an SUV or MUV via Sonmarg, where your motorcycles await you. The real adventure begins on the third day as you set off on your journey to Leh, crossing the Namik La pass and the Fotu La pass. The following day finds you crossing the Khardung La pass, the highest motorable pass in the world, into Nubra Valley!
The fifth day brings you to explore Hunder and Turtuk regions in Nubra Valley. As the journey continues, you get to witness the majestic beauty of the Pangong Lake on the sixth day followed by a mesmerizing view of the night sky at Hanle and the serene Tso Moriri lake on the seventh and eighth days respectively. Next, you cross numerous challenging passes to reach Sarchu and Tandi. The trip finally culminates in Manali on the twelfth day with a farewell party.
This is one of the most panoramic expeditions as you meander through narrow desert valleys and negotiate snow-capped peaks, and is sure to leave you with a lasting impression and a treasure trove of memories.

Day 1: Srinagar
Your PlanReport to the meeting point in Srinagar at Dal Lake. After orientation and a tour briefing, you have time to explore the city, revelling in its splendour. You can also enjoy a beautiful shikara ride on the lake and stay for the night will be in a houseboat!
Day 2: Enroute Kargil via Sonmarg
Your PlanYou depart from Srinagar by SUV or MUV at 9 am after breakfast. The first stop is at Sonmarg where you will be introduced to your bikes. After locally test driving your bikes, the real expedition begins as you set your journey towards Kargil. The first pass you will cross is the Zoji La pass, the second highest pass in the Kargil region and not to mention the spectacular views of the Tololing peak and Tiger Hill, the highest peak in Kargil. Along the way you will also pass Drass, the second coldest, inhabited place in the world! Here, in extreme conditions, the temperature dips to a bone-chilling -60°C. You can visit the Drass War Memorial while here, a commemorative memorial for the brave soldiers and officers that laid down their lives during the Kargil War of 1999. Finally, you reach your destination for the day by late evening. Dinner and stay for the night will be at the hotel in Kargil.
Day 3: Enroute Leh
Your PlanThis is one of the most scenic legs of the tour. Your first stop for the day is at Mulbek Valley where one can see the rock carvings of Maitreya Buddha. As you continue onward, you cross the Namik La pass first followed by the Fotu La pass which is the highest pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway at a height of 13478 feet! Your next stop along this route comes at Lamayuru monastery - the oldest and largest monastery in Ladakh. Lamayuru, a quaint village is stylized as Moonscape for the moonlike landscapes carved into the Himalayan Mountains. Once you reach Leh, you first visit Sangam, the breathtaking confluence of the rivers Indus and Zanskar followed by visits to the War Memorial Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and the mysterious Magnetic Hill! Dinner and stay for the night will be at the hotel in Leh.
Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass
Your PlanGear up for the most adventurous excursion of the trip - Nubra to Leh via Khardung La - one of the highest motorable passes in the world! Today’s journey begins after breakfast with the first stop at Shanti Stupa that boasts a panoramic view of the city. You then cross South Pullu, along the Khardung village and then North Pullu. You finally cross the awe-inspiring Khardung La pass to reach Nubra. Your last stop for the day is at the Diskit Monastery - the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra Valley followed by an off-road thrill experience on an ATV in the desert* Dinner and stay for the night will be at the hotel in Nubra. *ATV is optional. Cost for the same is not included in the package.
Day 5: Hunder - Turtuk
Your PlanAfter breakfast, you leave for the last village on the Indo-Pak border - Turtuk. Your ride today will take you through magnificent mountains, exhibiting different hues at every turn. Spend the day exploring the village and its rich history before heading back to Nubra. *Kindly note, travel to Turtuk will depend on the weather and the condition of the roads.
Day 6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso
Your PlanAfter breakfast today, you have some time to enjoy the sand dunes in the cold, crisp desert air of Hunder before you depart for Pangong Tso via the Shyok Valley. As beautiful as it is, this valley of the Shyok river is popularly known as the river of death because of how difficult it is and is not often selected for a travel route. You reach Pangong Tso, the world’s highest saltwater lake at an altitude of 4350 metres above sea level, by evening. With crystal clear waters, in every breathtaking shade of blue imaginable, this lake is one of the best attractions of Ladakh. Dinner and stay for the night will be at our campsite.
Day 7: Pangong Tso to Hanle
Your PlanStart your day early and catch the phenomenal sunrise over Pangong Lake. Be sure to get some good pictures! After breakfast, you depart via Chushul. This route is dotted with tiny villages and remote areas and you cross Man, Merak, Tsaga village and Loma before you reach Hanle. Hanle is a tiny village with an even tinier population and has only been opened for tourism recently. Home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory, the second largest in the world, Hanle is known for its mesmerizing view of the night sky. Dinner and stay for the night will be at a homestay.
Day 8: Hanle to Tso Moriri
Your PlanToday’s journey, begins after breakfast and takes you past some amazing landscapes. The 150 km trip also has you pass three splendid lakes - Loma, Nyoma and Sumdo before you arrive at your destination for the day, Tso Moriri. Here you can take in one of the most peaceful high-altitude lakes in India, Tso Moriri lake. Approximately 28 km long, it is set against a backdrop of magnificent snow-covered mountains and encompassed by barren hills. Spend some time by the lake before heading to our campsite in Tso Moriri for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Tso Moriri to Sarchu
Your PlanToday brings an absolutely exhilarating journey to Sarchu - one of the most sought after destination for adventure seekers. You leave after breakfast and cross the Lachung La pass and Nakeela pass followed by the 21 hair-pin bends of the famous Gata Loops to reach Sarchu by evening. Dinner and stay for the night is at our campsite in Sarchu.
Day 10: Sarchu to Tandi
Your PlanAfter breakfast you begin your picturesque trip for the day to Tandi. Along the way, at an altitude of 16,040 feet, you cross the acclaimed Baralacha Pass which connects the two most prominent mountain ranges, Pir Panjal and Zanskar valley besides the Great Himalayas. Tandi itself, offers a striking view of the confluence between the Chandra and Bhaga rivers and also has the last gas station on the Manali-Leh highway. Dinner and stay for the night is at our campsite in Tandi.
Day 11: Tandi to Manali via Rohtang Pass
Your PlanYour final leg of the thrilling tour begins today. Your departure post breakfast sees you first passing Khoksar, a quaint village on the banks of the Chandra river. Going forward, you get a spell-binding view of the valley and mountains as you head across Rohtang Pass - the Gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valley*! Featured in several Bollywood films like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Jab We Met, this pass is truly breathtaking and is sure to leave you speechless. You reach Manali by the evening, where we will be waiting to celebrate with a farewell party! Dinner and stay for the night will be at the hotel. *Kindly note, we will not be going to Spiti Valley during this Tour.
Day 12: Explore Manali and Departure
Your PlanYou have the day at leisure after breakfast and you can explore the city and its many attractions like Old Manali and Mall road for shopping. Departure from Manali will be at 4 pm.
Day 13: Delhi
Your PlanThe Tour ends here. We will surely miss you until we see you the next time ;)
