North-east India includes seven states, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya. Popularly known as the seven sisters of the northeast, these states form a travel destination that has everything! From crystal clear lakes and gushing rivers to snow-capped peaks and bountiful fields, from indigeneous tribes and bustling bazaars to awe-inspiring monuments and historic sites, the seven sisters have an unrivaled culture and charm.
A trip to the north-east reveals an exuberant display of nature and human diversity in bewitching unison. The highlights of the tour include crossing the stunning Bumla Pass (located at an altitude of 15,000 ft.), a jeep or an elephant safari at the renowned Kaziranga National Park which is home to the famous one-horned rhinoceros, visiting a Naga heritage village – Kisama that strives to preserve and promote the ancient Naga culture and traditions, the picturesque Loktak lake and lastly an immaculate extravaganza of beauty – Shillong, rightly known as ‘Scotland of the East’! Itineraries
Day 1: Guwahati to Bomdila
Your Plan
Your trip commences from Guwahati early in the morning with your destination for the day being Bomdila. Located in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh, the small town is known for its panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas, serene monasteries and plentiful apple orchards. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Bomdila.Day 2: Bomdila to Tawang
Your Plan
After breakfast, you continue your journey, heading for Tawang. The famous hill city is located at an altitude of 3048 m. It is well known for the many grand monasteries and is also credited as being the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama! There are also numerous glacial lakes in and around Tawang, making sure that your visit here is a picturesque one. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Tawang.Day 3: Bumla Pass and Zimthang
Your Plan
You have the day to explore Tawang. You visit the Bumla Pass, the steep road to the pass crosses through several tiny villages and scenic lakes making for a fascinating drive. Located at an altitude of 15,000 ft., Bumla Pass is maintained by the Indian Army and is snowbound for most of the year due to its elevation. It is through this pass that the Dalai Lama entered India. During the day, you also visit the old stupas in Zimthang and do some local sightseeing around the Tawang market. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Tawang.Day 4: Tawang to Dirang
Your Plan
Following breakfast, you visit a few places around Tawang before continuing onward. You first cross the striking Sela pass situated at about 13,700 ft., then the charming route takes you to Monpa village before reaching Dirang by evening. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Dirang.Day 5: Dirang to Tezpur
Your Plan
Today you head for a city steeped in history and folklore - Tezpur. Situated on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra river, it is a town in the center of Assam. Dotted with lakes and gardens interspersed with hillocks, Tezpur abounds in natural beauty, old archaeological sites and relics. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Tezpur.Day 6: Tezpur to Kaziranga
Your Plan
After breakfast, you leave for one the most thrilling and adventurous parts of the tour - Kaziranga National Park. Spread across the coastal plains of the Brahmaputra, Kaziranga is unmatched in its splendour and is home to fauna like tigers, elephants and the one-horned rhinoceros for which it is famous throughout the world. The jeep and elephant safaris here are also a fun activity to be experienced. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Kaziranga.Day 7: Kaziranga to Kohima
Your Plan
Today, you leave for the capital city of Nagaland - Kohima, after breakfast. This serene town boasts the exotic tribal culture of the northeast and is home to the Naga tribes. It offers stunning views of the neighbouring hills and landscapes. You have a leisurely evening to yourself to explore the local sights. Dinner and stay for the night will be at the homestay in Kohima.Day 8: Explore Khonoma, Kigwema and Kisama
Your Plan
Following breakfast, you have a chance to visit some of the local villages and experience the rich tribal culture of the region. Your first stop is Khonoma followed by Kigwema, two villages that are home to the Angami Naga tribes. Your last stop before heading back to Kohima will be at Kisama which is a Naga Heritage Village and strives to preserve and promote their culture and traditions. Dinner and stay for the night will be at the Kohima.Day 9: Enroute Imphal
Your Plan
You begin the day’s journey towards Manipur early in the morning. Manipur is one of the most beautiful places to visit in India. The untouched natural beauty is abundant with exotic vistas, lush hills, dense forests and blue lakes. Imphal, the capital city of Manipur has a similar untouched charm about it and its significant history leaves many things to see in the city. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Imphal.Day 10: Imphal to Silchar
Your Plan
Post breakfast, you visit the famous Loktak lake of Manipur situated about 48 kms outside Imphal. Be sure to get some good pictures! After spending some time at the lake, you continue your journey, reaching Silchar by evening. Known for its beauty and magnificence, Silchar is one of the most developed areas in the region. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Silchar.Day 11: Silchar to Aizawl
Your Plan
You leave Silchar after breakfast in the morning. Today sees you travelling to the largest city as well as the capital of Mizoram, Aizawl. The peaceful town is at an elevation of about 3700 ft. above sea level and has multiple attractions including the Mizoram State Museum! Dinner and stay for the night will be at Aizawl.Day 12: Explore Kumarghat, Panisagar and Kailashahar

After breakfast, you leave for Tripura to visit three impossibly scenic places - Kumarghat, Panisagar and Kailashahar. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Aizawl.Day 13: Aizawl to Agartala
Your Plan
Today, you leave for Agartala, the capital city of Tripura. It is also the second largest city in Northeast India and is the perfect combination of cultural diversity and natural beauty. Home to several historical and religious monuments, you have some time to enjoy the locale and do some sightseeing. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Agartala.Day 14: Agartala to Panisagar

Your journey for the day commences early in the morning after breakfast. You head to Panisagar, travelling across the beautiful, lush terrain of Tripura. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Panisagar.Day 15: Panisagar to Dawki
Your Plan
Post breakfast, you travel towards the Indo-Bangladesh border point in Meghalaya. A small town situated on the border, Dawki is a major center of trade between the two countries. It is also famous for the river Umngot, the boat rides on the river and the remarkable sights like the amazing suspension bridge and green hillocks. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Dawki.Day 16: Dawki to Shillong
Your Plan
Your journey onwards takes you through the beautiful valleys of Meghalaya, to one of the most famous and loved hillstations in India. Aptly named ‘Scotland of the East’, Shillong is an immaculate extravaganza of beauty. Filled with crystal clear lakes, quaint landscapes, numerous waterfalls and thrilling mountain peaks, people throng to Shillong. With a number of attractions like museums, zoos and pristine golf courses, it is a must visit! Dinner and stay for the night will be at Shillong.Day 17: Shillong to Guwahati
Your Plan
The package ends today after breakfast as you check out of the hotel with a plethora of incredible memories and head for Guwahati Airport. We hope to see you again soon!Inclusions
