Set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains and a windswept, desert terrain dotted with a patchwork of green, Spiti Valley is truly ‘a world within a world’! Dubbed so by the novelist Rudyard Kipling, the moment you enter Spiti, you are greeted by prayer flags fluttering in the chilly winds, and you know that you are entering a different realm altogether.
This Spiti Valley Bike Trip will commence in Chandigarh, one of the best-planned cities in the world, followed by Shimla, known to be the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’. On your journey forward, you will explore the interiors of Spiti like Sangla, Kalpa, Tabo, Giu, Dhankar, Kaza, Kibber, Langza and Hikkim which exhibit unparalleled beauty, exude natural grace and add to the rich culture of this region. The journey continues along the Chicham village the next day as you travel to Chandratal lake which boasts some of the best sunrises you can witness. Ride to Manali on the tenth day. Take a halt at the famous Chacha Chachi Dhaba for a warm cup of tea and finally reaching Manali after crossing one of the beautiful, Rohtang Pass. The tour culminates on the eleventh day as you head back to Delhi.

Itineraries
Day 1: Arrive in Chandigarh
Your Plan
Arrive in Chandigarh and report to the hotel where our representatives will be waiting for you. You can get some rest once you’ve checked in followed by an orientation and tour briefing later. You will then be introduced to your bikes for a test-ride. You have the rest of the day to indulge; explore one of the best-planned cities in the world, go boating in Sukhna lake or shop to your heart’s content. That evening, back at the hotel, we will be waiting for you to celebrate with a Welcome Party!Day 2: Chandigarh to Shimla
Your Plan
After breakfast, you begin your journey from Chandigarh to Shimla (around 9 am). Enveloped by lush, forested hillsides, Shimla exhibits unparalleled natural beauty and is popularly known as the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’. Once you reach the hotel and check in, you have the day to yourself. Today is relaxed and primarily for you to get acclimatized to the cold weather. If you like, you can go for a stroll in the evening and catch sight of the magnificent colonial buildings of the city. Dinner and stay for the night will be at the hotel.Day 3: Shimla to Sangla
Your Plan
Start your day with a sublime view of the sunrise. You head towards Sangla after breakfast (around 8 am). Encompassed by evergreen forests and snow-covered peaks, Sangla Valley is one of the most enchanting valleys in Kinnaur district and is dotted with several attractions. Once you check in at your hotel, you have some time before you leave for Kamru village, a historic tourist attraction offering stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. You will also be visiting the magnificent Kamru fort here, which is known for its tower-style architecture and intricate wooden carvings. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Sangla.Day 4: Sangla to Kalpa
Your Plan
Post breakfast, you begin one of the most scenic journeys of the tour - towards Kalpa. First, visit Chitkul on Sangla -Chitkul Road. Take halt at Chitkul - the last inhabited village in India on the Indo-Tibetan border, to savour a cup of hot tea at ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’. Continue driving back on Chitkul-Sangla Road and then towards Kalpa. Check into your hotel once you reach Kalpa and relax for sometime before you leave to explore the town. Your first stop is the suicide point at Roghi known for its sharp slope and menacing trench. As you continue onward, catch a glimpse of the glorious Kinnaur Kailash Peak, known to be the abode of Lord Shiva. You then visit the Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar monastery, the newly-constructed Durga temple and the beautiful Narayan-Nagini Temple. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Kalpa.Day 5: Kalpa to Nako
Your Plan
Today, you depart for Nako after breakfast. Located at an altitude of 3625 m in the Kinnaur district, Nako is a popular tourist destination owing to its tranquility. Surrounded by brown and native hills, it serves as the perfect destination to capture some good shots! Nako Lake and the Nako Monastery are the famous attractions here. Check into the hotel and get some rest. Dinner and stay for the night is at Nako.Day 6: Nako to Dhankar
Your Plan
Begin the day’s journey after breakfast with your first stop for the day at Giu Village. Take a little detour to visit a small hamlet named Giu, to see the mummy of a Buddhist monk which is over 500-years old! Later visit, Tabo Monastery. Constructed in 996 AD, it is deemed to be the largest royal complex in the Spiti Valley. The similarity between its beautiful scriptures and extraordinary wall paintings and those of Ajanta and Ellora caves, has earned it the name ‘Himalayan Ajanta’. Later, you continue your journey on the Tabo-Spiti road to reach Dhankar, one of the most enthralling villages. Here, you visit one of the oldest and most revered monasteries - the Dhankar monastery and a few other attractions. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Dhankar. (Kindly Note: At Dhankar; Stay will be in different home stays depending upon the total number of Travellers.)Day 7: Pin Valley National Park
Your Plan
Gear up for one of the most exhilarating fragments of the tour. Your first stop for the day will be at Pin Valley - the only cold desert National Park in Himachal Pradesh. Though within Spiti, Pin Valley has an ecosystem that is entirely different and its pristine beauty is sure to leave you enchanted. Reach Kaza and check in to your Hotel. Later during the day, you explore the area in and around Kaza.Day 8: Kaza - Hikkim - Komic - Langza
Your Plan
This morning, you leave for Hikkim - to see the world’s highest post office! Next, you visit Komic - the highest motorable village in the world, which has been blessed by unspoilt scenery, lush surroundings, snow-covered peaks, and barren landscapes. Lastly, you visit Langza village - known to be a treasure house of fossils of marine plants and animals, before heading back to Kaza. Dinner and stay for the night will be at Kaza.Day 9: Key Monastery - Chicham - Losar - Kunzum La - Chandratal Lake
Your Plan
You leave early after breakfast today as you continue the picturesque journey around Spiti. First, you will visit Key Monastery, the largest monastery of Spiti Valley located at an altitude of 4166 m followed by the Kibber Gompa in Kibber, the village that holds repute for being the second highest motorable village in the world! Next, you cross the Chicham bridge - the highest bridge in Asia, to enter Chicham village on the other side of the valley. The winding road and deep gorges unfold a breathtaking view of the landscape. You continue onward to reach Losar, located at the end of Spiti. The snowy mountains and serpentine rivers are a bewitching sight giving Losar a look much like Ladakh. You finally cross the Kunzum La pass to reach Chandratal Lake. Popular for its crescent shape, which has earned it the name Moon Lake, Chandratal is one of the most famous and stunning lakes in Spiti. It is at a height of 14,100 ft above sea level! Spend some tranquil moments by the lake in the crisp evening chill before heading to our campsite for dinner and overnight stay.Day 10: Chandratal to Manali

Witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over the Chandratal lake to begin your day. Be sure to get some good pictures! After breakfast, you check out from the campsite and begin the day’s journey towards Manali. Dotted with tiny villages, rushing streams and snow-capped hillocks, this is a remarkable trip.Day 11: Departure

The tour reaches its end today, as you depart from Manali in a Volvo bus with a plethora of bewitching memories to keep you company until we see you again!Day 12: Delhi
